There is a very good reason why I was conspicuously quiet during the month of June. Mum and John were visiting and stayed with us the whole month. They dealt with the charming hot weather and got out and about, and we were busy on the weekends doing touristy stuff. And what’s more, we all survived! It was great having our first visitors

Belated big congrats to my cousin Brendan, whose beers for Feral Brewing Company recently won a stack of awards at the Australian International Beer Awards. so father’s day today. saw my dad this morning and got to hear more about his unique view of the world… he goes back to hospital in a few weeks to get more done to his throat. he will either have it all cleaned up or he will need radiotherapy.
went to high tea at c with marsha in the arvo. was lovely drinking english breakfast, eating finger food and watching the world go by. we discussed seed planting and other things garden related. had a splendid time.
little disappointed i didn’t get tics to see JBT tonight or tomorrow night. *sniff*. next time.
Wowee. Second day at new job. So much to learn and comprehend. Tiring and exhausting but also interesting and fantastic to get my mind working again. I have 8 classes to give over two days in a few weeks and I am not even nervous (yet). Such a beautiful campus to be working at too and the staff have been very welcoming. I would like more sleep though.
Dan is in Jakarta this week. I am demanding he be home for at least 2 months this time…
Dad had his operation yesterday – mum and I went to visit him. I really really dislike hospitals. Apparently not all of the cancer/lump(?) could be removed with laser so he has to go back in a month for another go. He may also end up needing to have radiation if it is still not completely removed.
Oliver refuses to send me email. He is so self-centred.
I dislike my dentist. I am supposed to see him next week but am going to try to see him earlier. If he doesn’t impress me I am going to unleash the rage.
a few days ago my dad was diagnosed with throat cancer. he will be having surgery on the day that i start my new job. now we are not the closest father/daughter there ever was. i hope he comes through it okay.
You know you need to chill the freak out when Big Brother starts to take over your life…
