A couple of recent purchases that have made me happy lately:
Finally decided to bite the bullet and buy a treadmill. It really is the only way I will be doing any running over here. Spent a little more than the very basic model as Dan anticipates using it during the long humid and sweltering summer. I am doing quite well so far, just need to do it more consistently. In the way of fitness I also recently invested in Tracy Anderson’s Mat Workout and Post-pregnancy Workout dvds. I have heard mixed things about these workouts so will see how I go (and the latter is supposedly kick ass even if you are not post-pregnancy, like I am(!), for abs, hips, thighs)
Finally got to buy my very belated birthday present! Finally have my hands on a Canon digital slr, and I’m glad I waited a little longer for this one to be released as it also has video. It is one of Canon’s basic dslr models but I am super excited and can’t wait to learn how to use all the functions and take many pics.
For some reason I have always loved papasan chairs and always wanted one. I seem to have the perfect body for curling up in them nice and snug. A friend of a friend was getting rid of her chair base for cheap and I couldn’t resist. I also bought the cushion on sale the same day.
Recent purchase from Target. I love these $24 Champions. They were just what I was looking for to walk around all of DC in. They stood up well and are very comfy.
OK, first things first. Kirrily tagged me awhile ago for a blog spot game and I am only now getting around to it…
The game is to post a picture of where you blog, and mine is generally on the couch in the lounge room. Unfortunately we have a cheap and low coffee table which has caused some very bad postures and aches for me while blogging here. I really must invest in a cool laptop table like Kir! I like blogging in the lounge as usually the boys are all in here and it is nice and light.
So the official rules: Show Us Your Blog Spot!
1. Once you are tagged, post a picture of where you blog. This might mean a picture of your cozy bed, or your office at work (you naughty employee, you!)
2. Feel free to tell us a little about your space, or explain certain items in more detail. Or not.
3. Link back to this post.
4. Tag five other bloggers to show their blog spots.
5. If you are tagged and do not participate, you will become allergic to cabbage.
So I am breaking game rules and tagging only 2 people, who are more likely to actually participate:
I really need to do something with my hair. Like get rid of half of it. I think now is the time.
I am thinking a few inches chopped off and maybe a side fringe???
For fun I did the hair makeover. Ignore the fact that they look like mugshots – does a side fringe look too wrong (and I obviously won’t be going blonde)????
Yes I would like to go visit this new Library for kicks.
How did it take me so long to discover this musical genius? Only a couple years late on that one. I love how he is described as sounding like Prince serenading Moodyman while Otis Redding and Aphex Twin watch “Wattstax”.
You’re The Sound and the Fury!
by William Faulkner Strong-willed but deeply confused, you are trying to come to grips
with a major crisis in your life. You can see many different perspectives on the issue,
but you’re mostly overwhelmed with despair at what you’ve lost. People often have a hard
time understanding you, but they have some vague sense that you must be brilliant
anyway. Ultimately, you signify nothing.
